Frank Karwowski MIGM

Francis Ignatius Karwowski was born on February 1, 1950 in Schenectady, New York, three months after his parents Kazimierz and Lucy emigrated from Germany. They met after being liberated from the slave labor camps. Francis has four siblings, Anna, Richard, Diane, and Robert. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Bishop Gibbons High School but then through a family move, graduated from Guilderland Central High School in 1967.
General Electric had employed him for the past 41 years, retiring in 2010 from the Turbine-Generator Test Department as well as a Black Belt in the company’s Six Sigma Program completing 127 projects. He holds U.S. patent 6,886,267 B1 for a Rotor Clearance Measurement Gage and U.S. patent 7,356,941 B2 Micrometer Support Apparatus & Measurement Method Using Same, and has other patents pending.
He is married to his wife of 40 years, Jackie. They have two sons, Kazimir Ignatius and Thadeus Alexander, and one granddaughter Kazimira Izabella.. He attends St. John the Evangelist R.C. church, belongs to several local civic groups, and is an avid reader. He is an active Freemason and is interested in local and Masonic history, collecting early Masonic books and memorabilia. He has portrayed the character of LCDR Theodore DuBois in the video documentary “The Day the War Stopped” which is the true tale of the burial of LCDR John Hart of St. George’s Lodge #6 during the Civil War in Louisiana. The Tourism Commission of the State of Louisiana has published him in the booklet of the same title. He has portrayed both LCDR Hart and DuBois in the reenactment of the burial of Brother Hart by the members of Feliciana Lodge #31 for the past 11 years.
